Everyone has a story to tell. Don't let yours be lost.
Modeled after the Story Corps project as heard on NPR radio, individuals, groups and families are invited to record their own bit of oral history which will be archived with the City of Charleston. In return, they receive a free CD copy of their recording.
The recordings will be done by local sound engineer Bob Webb at the studios of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, 600 Capitol Street. There is ample parking immediately outside the front door.
This year the focus will be on Veterans of Foreign Wars; the African-American community with remembrances of Charleston's Triangle District; and the local Civil Rights movement of the 40's, 50's and 60's.
Recording sessions will last 45 minutes and are by appointment only. Special consideration will be given to homebound individuals.
To reserve your time please contact Bob Webb at 304-345-1227 or Robert.webb1@verizon.net.
