Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, is a holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally the emancipation of African slaves throughout the Confederate South on June 19. The word Juneteenth derives from a combination of “June” and “nineteenth. This Juneteenth celebration features guests Zuzu Acrobats along with several local performers
