Melony Gingery is a West Virginia sculptor who has been a part of the FestivALL Art Fairs for the past two years. She will return during FestivALL Fall at the Harvest Art Fair located at the Woman’s Club of Charleston.
After starting out in acrylics and jewelry making, Gingery found that sculpture and inks were her real passion. Today her work is composed of whimsical characters that range from sea creatures to images of childhood that illuminate the world around us. Her work is full of movement and captures the joys of life through dazzling color and movement. Each sculpture is handmade and created from an epoxy resin clay that is then finished with powdered pigments. The final products are inspiring and evoke memories of the past and dreams of the future.
In addition to her sculptures, Gingery is fond of ink art. She creates abstract masterpieces by combining alcohol ink on Yupo paper. The final product is magical and gives her hands a moment of rest from the laborious craft of sculpting.
