Fall Artist Spotlight: Suzan Morgan
Suzan Morgan is a fiber and textiles artist from Buckhannon, WV. She has been a part of the Capitol Street Art Fair and Harvest Art Fairs for the past few years and will return on October 21 and 22 during FestivALL Fall.
“As an artist working in textiles/fibers. I create wall pieces, faux taxidermy, potholders, aprons, boxes and more from my hand-dyed fabrics. I use, exclusively, my own hand-dyed and printed fabrics in my work. I use dye and textile paint to print, roll, silk screen, stamp the fabric before machine and hand sewing the fabric into original works. I even dye some of my own embroidery threads”
Her most notable pieces are her plush wall hangings which range from quilted designs to 3D faux taxidermy busts. Suzan has been working in this medium for more than 20 years, is a Tamarack artist, and is currently a member of two juried galleries.
