SUMMARY:Stories are Made\, Loop by Loop Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:This exhibit features local\, regional\, and international artists using the traditional technique of rug hooking to document and explore social\, emotional\, and personal topics. Using a variety of materials\, from wool fabric to recycled plastics\, these artists pull strips through an open weave fabric to create loops\, pile\, and texture. Rug hooking is steeped in generations of resourceful\, creative\, out-spoken makers. These contemporary artists work the technique’s simple\, repetitive motions by hand\, one loop at a time. The exhibit invites viewers to explore this unique form of storytelling.
