SUMMARY:Down & Dirty Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Grab your boots and kick up some dust for a special weekend of country music\, cold beer and great times. The inaugural Salango Law Down & Dirty Music Festival will be held at GoMart Ballpark\, home of the Charleston Dirty Birds\, October 14-15\, 2023. \nThe Salango Law Down and Dirty Music Festival is the all-new music getaway where the country road runs through home plate\, full of country vibes and rockin’ times. Experience live music performances from Nashville’s most talented singer/songwriters including David Nail\, Matt Stell\, Restless Road\, Jameson Rodgers\, Love & Theft\, Jon Langston\, and local favorites Kate Boytek & Josh Pantry! \nTickets starting at $20! \n\nGet Your Tickets Here!\n\n \nJAMESON RODGERS\nA native of Batesville\, Mississippi\, Rodgers grew up not only on 90’s country music\, but on the work ethic demonstrated during those days by the people who surrounded him and the artist who inspired him – artists such as Bruce Springsteen\, Merle Haggard\, and Eric Church. \nWith the success of his Platinum-certified\, No. 1 debut hit “Some Girls” and his follow-up Top 10 smash “Cold Beer Calling My Name\,” Rodgers is in fact cementing his place amongst the future legends of the genre\, finding that truth and toughness mixed in with a whole bunch of authenticity can form a career for even the most skeptical of artists. \nVisit Jameson Rodgers Website \n \nDAVID NAIL\nA country artist with an agile voice\, a gift for songwriting\, and a passionate performing style\, David Nail emerged in 2002 with the moderately successful single “Memphis.” He inked a deal with MCA Nashville five years later and released a string of high-charting studio albums\, including 2011’s Sound of a Million Dreams\, which featured the number one single “Let It Rain.” In 2018 he teamed up with longtime colleagues Jason Hall and Andrew Petroff under the moniker David Nail & The Well Ravens and issued the organic and inward-looking EP Only This and Nothing More. \nTwo years later\, he released the intimate Bootheel 2020 EP\, which like its 2021 follow-up of the same name\, paid tribute to his small Missouri hometown. \nVisit David Nail’s Website \n \nMATT STELL\nMore so than the massive physique that helped Stell become a collegiate basketball standout\, the Platinum certified singer has proven via the songs he sings and the shows he puts on that he is far too powerful of an artist to ever fit into some sort of singular category. In fact\, to describe Stell in a few words would be a complete disservice to the man he is and the artist he looks to become as he releases his new EP Better Than That on October 16. \nVisit Matt Stell’s Website \n \nRESTLESS ROAD\nRestless Road is an up-and-coming country music band from Nashville\, Tennessee. The trio consists of Colton Pack\, Andrew Scholz and Zach Beeken. Together they bring a dynamic blend of country music that blends traditional country themes with a modern edge. \nVisit Restless Road’s Website  \n \nLOVE AND THEFT\nLove and Theft is an American country music duo consisting of vocalists Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles. They originally recorded as a trio with vocalist Brian Bandas; after he exited the band\, Gunderson and Liles continued as a duo. Signed to Lyric Street Records subsidiary Carolwood Records in 2009\, Love and Theft made their chart debut in early 2009 with the single “Runaway\,” which reached the Top 10 on Billboard Hot Country Songs. The band’s debut album\, World Wide Open\, was released on August 25\, 2009. \nVisit Love and Theft’s Website \n \nJON LANGSTON\nJon Langston grew up in Loganville\, GA\, listening to music by his heroes Alan Jackson and the Eagles. He played football\, eventually earning a Division 1 college football scholarship. Jon always thought football would be a part of his life\, but after his sixth concussion left him blind for fifteen minutes\, his football career ended abruptly. So\, he picked up his guitar which he hadn’t touched since the eighth grade and re-taught himself how to play. Playing open mic nights and working on his songwriting eventually lead to the 2013 release of self-penned\, “Forever Girl\,” the first song he ever wrote. That release kicked off his music career which has culminated in sold out shows across the country and over 500 million career streams. \nJon opened for Luke Bryan on his Farm Tour in 2017\, which was a full circle moment having attended as a spectator of the Farm Tour only a few years before in Athens\, GA. He was invited to perform on the tour again in 2018 and joined Luke in support of his Sunset Repeat Tour in 2019. Jon signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV\, management with KP Entertainment\, and is the first artist signed under Luke Bryan’s new Label 32 Bridge Entertainment with EMI Records Nashville. Jon’s debut major label single\, “When It Comes To Loving You” reached No. 1 on the all-genre iTunes Chart. \nVisit Jon Langston’s Website \n \nCRAWFORD & POWER\nVirginia natives Crawford & Power are making waves within the country music scene with their unique sound. Authentically southern\, Jake Crawford’s powerful vocal blended with a modern approach to the Dobro from Ethan Power\, create a brand of country that has been lauded as a breath of fresh air to the genre. \nThe duo have already opened for a variety of artists including The Marshall Tucker Band\, Willie Nelson\, Travis Tritt\, The Charlie Daniels Band\, Cody Johnson\, Luke Combs\, Gary Allan\, and Jerry Douglas\, among many other major acts. \nVisit Crawford & Power’s Website \n \nJOSH PANTRY\nBorn Joshua A. Christian\, Josh is a Charleston\, WV native. Previously featured in the Charleston Gazette for songwriting\, his career is growing and flourishing. Many ask where the name Pantry came from. Josh’s friends were quite the rowdy bunch\, and he recalls spending many nights in a place called “the dirty paradise” ( a home occupied by his best friends ).  He soon made his room in the pantry\, and his friends started calling him Pantry. That’s how the name was born\, and it stuck. \nJosh Started playing music around 2014\, with the three songs he knew. He brought all his friends to an open mic\, the bar offered him his own show\, and the rest is history! Setting the attendance record on a Tuesday in Charleston\, Josh played many Tuesdays for a tip jar and a free meal. \nVisit Josh Pantry’s Website. \n \nKATE BOYTEK\nSinger/songwriter Kate Boytek hit the stage for the first time at her local county fair talent show at the tender age of five. Singing opportunities were few and far between in Kate’s tiny hometown of Logan\, West Virginia\, nestled deep in the Appalachian coalfields. However\, Kate sang at dozens of local charity events\, directed her church choir\, and eventually attracted the attention of WV native and legendary Grand Ole Opry and Bradley’s Barn audio engineer Vic Gabany. Boytek is pursuing her dream in Nashville and has appeared with country hitmakers Easton Corbin\, LOCASH\, Drew Parker\, Tyler Farr\, Eric Paslay\, Trick Pony\, Little Texas\, and others. Kate’s songwriting style is both fresh and contemporary and yet has echoes of the classic singer-songwriters from the 1970s. \nVisit Kate Boytek’s Website \n \nCHRIS JAMES COUNTRY\nChris Jackson and James Heff make up the country music duo\, Chris James out of Jacksonville\, Florida. They have played all over the Southeast United States. They have performed in Nashville\, Raleigh\, Charlotte\, Tampa\, Orlando\, Pensacola\, Atlanta and Jacksonville. \n\n\n\n\nPrevious\nNext \nHave a few minutes to help us out? SUMMARY:'Little Shop of Horrors: The Musical' presented by Charleston Light Opera Guild
DESCRIPTION:The Charleston Light Opera Guild will present multiple performances of ‘Little Shop of Horrors” between June 9 and 18\, 2023 during FestivALL at the Guild Theater! \nBased on the 1960 Roger Corman movie\, the musical “Little Shop of Horrors” with music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by Howard Ashman tells the story of Seymour Krelhourn\, a meek floral assistant who makes a Faustian pact with a tiny plant in order to win the girl he loves. The mysterious Audrey II plant becomes an overnight sensation but exhibits a thirst for blood in order to survive and by the end of the show the plant’s secret threatens the entire planet. \nLittle Shop of Horrors premiered Off-Off-Broadway before moving to the Off-Broadway Orpheum Theatre in NY in 1982 where it had a five-year run. The musical was captured in a 1986 film starring Rick Moranis as Seymour\, Steve Martin as the dentist and Ellen Greene recreating her off-Broadway role as Audrey. With a hip score and book the musical played on Broadway in 2003\, has enjoyed Britain’s West End productions\, national and international tours\, community and school productions\, and is currently back Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre in New York where it continues to receive critical acclaim. \nCLOG previously presented the comedic musical in 1987 at the Jefferson Street Workshop and in 2004 at the Guild Theatre. \nTICKETS: $20 \nBuy tickets online or call 304-342-9312 \n\nCLICK HERE TO PURCHASE\n \nThanks to our Sponsors and Event Organizers\n\n\n\n\n\nPrevious\nNext \nHave a few minutes to help us out?
