FestivALL Children's Juried Art Exhibition Announces 2016 Details

Art-for-ALL is a student art exhibition for children in grades pre-K through 6 in Boone, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, and Putnam Counties.  Children are encouraged to submit one piece of work for jurying in one of the following categories:  2-D, including painting, drawing, photography, collage, mixed media, printing, and graphic arts; 3-D, including sculpture, pottery, woodcrafts, glass, jewelry, textiles, mixed media, and constructions with recycled materials; or video, with a maximum of five minutes per video.

Work may be submitted directly by the child and his/her family or in conjunction with a teacher or group leader.  All children in the designated grades and counties are eligible to submit work.

The deadline for submitting work is May 15, 2016.  A jpeg image of the work and contact information may be emailed to festivallartforall@yahoo.com.   In the subject line put Art-for-ALL and the grade.  Teachers and groups, please use a separate email for each entry to ensure that the identifying information is not lost and to facilitate organization of the slide show.

Jurying will be completed and notifications to applicants will be sent out by the end of May.  Work that is submitted will be displayed in a slide show on the websites for FestivALL and the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences.   Arrangements will be made to collect the work that is accepted for exhibition, including deliveries to branches of the City National Bank.

The exhibition will be held during FestivALL from June 16-27 in the lobby of the Clay Center.  A public reception and awards ceremony will be held at the Clay Center on June 25 from 3-5 p.m.

Sponsors include the Elliot Family Foundation, the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, the Central WV Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Clay Center.   Owens Fellowship funds will be used for the top awards.
