The Charleston Light Opera Guild will present multiple performances of ‘Little Shop of Horrors” between June 9 and 18, 2023 during FestivALL at the Guild Theater!

Based on the 1960 Roger Corman movie, the musicalLittle Shop of Horrors” with music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by Howard Ashman tells the story of Seymour Krelhourn, a meek floral assistant who makes a Faustian pact with a tiny plant in order to win the girl he loves. The mysterious Audrey II plant becomes an overnight sensation but exhibits a thirst for blood in order to survive and by the end of the show the plant’s secret threatens the entire planet.

Little Shop of Horrors premiered Off-Off-Broadway before moving to the Off-Broadway Orpheum Theatre in NY in 1982 where it had a five-year run. With a hip score and book the musical played on Broadway in 2003, has enjoyed Britain’s West End productions, national and international tours, community and school productions, and is currently back Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre in New York where it continues to receive critical acclaim.
