    Charley West meets the Big Easy as Charleston’s premier jazz combo The Bob Thompson Unit is joined by featured trumpeter James Moore for this cruise down the Kanawha on the River Queen.

    Location: Aboard the River Queen, Haddad Riverfront Park, 600 Kanawha Blvd. E.

    Tickets: General Admission $35,

    The Children’s Art Fair is two days of family fun! Enjoy make & take craft opportunities from invited artisans and volunteer groups and a stage with kid-friendly music and performances, games, and other activities for children of all ages.  On SATURDAY ONLY at the Kanawha County Public Library, enjoy the library’s used book sale and ‘Summer Library Club Saturday.’

    A recital celebrating the viola in all its glory!

    The Valley Violists, including members of the West Virginia Symphony, will perform duets through large ensemble numbers. Special guest Rudolf Haken will stun with his own compositions. Enjoy a wide range of styles, from baroque through pop, with some surprises! Join us to hear as this lovely instrument is placed front and center.

    Produced by West Virginia Youth Symphony, Sandra Groce

    Location: Woman’s Club of Charleston, 1600 Virginia St. E

    Tickets: $10, available only at the door. Students free.

    Donations appreciated, all proceeds benefit the West Virginia Youth Symphony.
