    The Children’s Art Fair is two days of family fun! Enjoy make & take craft opportunities from invited artisans and volunteer groups and a stage with kid-friendly music and performances, games, and other activities for children of all ages.  On SATURDAY ONLY at the Kanawha County Public Library, enjoy the library’s used book sale and ‘Summer Library Club Saturday.’

    FestiVIOLA!

    A recital celebrating the viola in all its glory! The Valley Violists, including members of the West Virginia Symphony, will perform duets through large ensemble numbers. Enjoy works by Bach and Bruch, as well as some surprises. Join us to hear as this lovely instrument is placed front and center. Donations appreciated, all proceeds benefit the West Virginia Youth Symphony.

    Corey Harris is one of blues’ most faithful contemporary griots. Tracing the music back to its African roots, he has trekked all over the world to share these stories in song and in 2007 was awarded the MacArthur Fellowship Genius grant for unearthing and sharing that rich, connected history.
