The two operas (Witches of Wolfhaven and Warlock Concert) take place in a mystical world of witches and warlocks. While Gertrude belongs to the benevolent Wolfhaven coven, Gustav is a member of the clan led by the evil witch Kannika. The two young people meet and fall in love. Will Gertrude save Gustav from his evil ways, or will their differences tear them apart?
“Gustav and Gertrude” (Two original operas by locals Mark Hornbaker and Caroline Chamness) performed by the Academy Singers and members of the WV State Philharmonic under Scott Woodard with special guest singers Betsy Baer and Ashley Dannewitz.
This is a FREE performance at the Davis Fine Arts Center Theater at West Virginia State University.
