    A City Becomes a Work of Art
    FestivALL


    A city-wide, multi-arts festival in Charleston, WV showcasing a mix of music, theater, dance, visual art, and more each June. Nestled in the heart of Appalachia, over 100 FestivALL events will take place in more than 50 locations across the city of Charleston, ranging from outdoor spaces to theaters to intimate galleries and event spaces. Join the capital city community in celebrating ALL of the arts, performed by local, national, and international talent.

    FestivALL directly produces some events, co-produces some events and presents some events that are produced by other individuals and organizations.

    Ice Cream & the Arts is a street fair and chalk art festival in the Elk City District of the West Side.

    Free ice cream is available to attendees as local artists and chalk artists create their own chalk masterpieces.

    Attendees can enjoy numerous participatory art activities as well.

  • FestivALL Art Parade & AfterpARTy

    Art Parade & AfterpARTy:
    2pm-3:30pm

    Arts organizations, community partners, musicians and more will parade from the Kanawha Boulevard to Slack Plaza via Summers Street in celebration of the arts in our region. As the parade winds down, the fun doesn’t stop as music, inflatables, make-and-take crafts and more take over Slack Plaza!

    Parade kicks off at 2pm & AfterpARTy goes from 2pm-3:30pm!

  • Kites Over Kanawha City

    KCCA is bringing back for the second year an old pastime to Kanawha City – kite building and flying. Come join us for an afternoon of fun and help us fill the skies with beauty and excitement and enjoy the day together!

    This event will feature an exhibition flying large kites by New Era Air & Space Adventures.

    Event will be in tat the Mountaineer Montessori Soccer Field.

  • Kites Over Kanawha City

    KCCA is working with New Era Air & Space Adventures to bring an old pastime to Kanawha City – kite building and flying. Come join us for an afternoon of fun and help us fill the skies with beauty and excitement! This event will feature an exhibition flying large kites by New Era Air & Space Adventures.

    The first 50 guests will receive their own FREE kite. There will also be a booth where you can buy a kite kit and, with their help, make your own kite and learn how to fly it. There will also be food, drinks and other fun things to do! It’s gonna be
    BIG!

    Event will be in the field behind the WV Housing Development Fund building. Parking adjacent to the field, behind Pizza Hut.

  • FestivALL Art Parade

    The FestivALL Art Parade is BACK on June 10 and what would be better than to have all of our partners join us down Capitol Street for a parade celebrating the arts in our community?
    We want to see your most colorful, musical and funky sides! Feel free to dress up in your most creative outfits/costumes/masks and decorate a float, vehicle or walk in the parade. Play music, dance, sing or all of the above!

  • FestivALL Porch Parade

    A vibrant celebration of the creativity and spirit of FestivALL showcases a Parade of Porches! Local artists have been commissioned to create larger-than-life art installations at homes and businesses in the East End. Check out the Porch Parade map to create your own parade route.

    Neighborhood stoops, porches and yards will turn into into works of art with stationary “floats”! 

    These “floats” will be commissioned by a variety of local artists, and community members are encouraged to decorate their homes with festive decorations to enhance to overall experience.

    Parade goers can choose to drive or walk as they enjoy the FestivALL Porch Parade.

    Where does the parade take place?

     For 2023, the commissioned “floats” will be concentrated on the East End of Charleston, WV.
