    Saturday, May 31 – Sunday, June 1

    The annual two-day Capitol Street Art Fair welcomes you to enjoy art, music, and more in the heart of downtown Charleston!

    Over 70 local and regional artisans will sell and display their wares in bath & body, books, fine art, jewelry, glass work, pottery, photography, printmaking, woodwork, textiles and more. Live music stages, roaming performers, and other entertainment will also delight you for two days of fun.

    Make sure to check out the Children’s Art Fair, and more while you are there.

    The FestivALL Children’s Art Fair is the perfect two days of family fun! The Children’s Art Fair & Sale offers young artists the chance to interact with each other and the public. Invited artists and community groups offer free make-and-take art activities, kid-friendly performances take the stage all day long, and children have the opportunity to participate in art instruction provided by FestivALL leading up to the fair where they will get to sell their works.

    From 10am-3pm check out the Annual Kanawha County Public Library Used Book Sale! This year’s Annual Used Book Sale in conjunction with the Capitol Street Art Fair will be held at the Main Library in Room 311. All proceeds help fund library programs and services.

    When the gallery lights go down, the party lights come up for Art After Dark! Enjoy an evening of art, entertainment, and interactive fun in the Juliet Art Museum, with free admission!

    Explore the current exhibitions along with live performances by local musicians, take home art activities, and free parking during Downtown Charleston’s Art Walk!

    Current Exhibition:
    Author and illustrator Rosalie Haizlett kicks off her new book tour with this traveling exhibit featuring watercolor paintings from her manuscript. The illustrations feature a combination of vibrant landscapes, hand-drawn maps, and close-up views of the tiny plants, animals, and fungi that Haizlett observed during a six-month trip through the entire Appalachian Mountain range (from Alabama to Newfoundland) in 2022. The exhibit replicates stepping into a whimsical field guide.

  • Carriage Trail Leaf Walk

    Carriage Trail Leaf Walk

     Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1-4pm

    Enjoy the arts outside during FestivFALL. Experience the charm of the Sunrise Carriage Trail amid fall foliage as you walk along the .65 mile trail taking in the sites and sounds of live music, art, dance, and more.

    Be aware that the trail is a wide gravel way approximately one half mile long and has a moderately steep incline.

    Dogs on leashes are welcome.

    Location/Parking: Sunrise Carriage Trail, 746 Myrtle Rd. Parking is limited. We recommend parking at Farmer, Cline, Campbell PLLC at the top of the trail or across the bridge in downtown Charleston.

    Parking is limited at the bottom of  top of the trail, but a trolley will run continuously from 12:45PM-4:15PM taking attendees from the top of the Carriage Trail to the Founders Day Program at Springhill Cemetery before looping back through and stopping on Capitol Street.

    All tickets to this show are e-tickets, and will be emailed to you upon purchase. Open up the pdf and the QR code on your ticket will be scanned at the door. This event will also be offered as a livestream.

    Mountain Stage livestreams are free, however there are some incredible folks out there who’d like to show their support through a donation-based, pay what you want ”ticket” for the livestream. This is a donation-based “ticket” to show some love for the program and is not a ticket to the live event.

    You’ll be able to catch the show from the comfort of your home (or wherever you wish) Sunday, June 18, 2023 –  at 7 PM ET at mountainstage.org

  • The Wine & Jazz Music Festival


    Are you a fan of great music, amazing drinks, and tasty food? Then you won’t want to miss the 2024 Wine & Jazz Music Festival presented by Fund for the Arts and co-presenter, Spilman Thomas & Battle! Taking place on the lush lawn at the University of Charleston, this year’s Festival promises to be the city’s premier summer party. The event will feature live music from renowned musicians, delicious food selections, and superb wines and beer! Not only is this Festival a great way to have fun, but it’s also for a good cause. Fund for the Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting arts and cultural organizations throughout the Charleston area. By attending the Festival, you’ll be supporting our mission and helping to ensure that the arts continue to thrive in our community.

  • Art After Dark

    Enjoy an evening of art, entertainment, and interactive fun in the Juliet Art Museum, for FREE! This month, we are debuting a new exhibition celebrating the life and work of beloved Charleston artist Charles Jupiter Hamilton!

    And it’s the last chance to see our contemporary rug hooking exhibition “Stories are Made Loop by Loop.”

    We’ll have live music by the Carpenter Ants and a take-home activity, too!

    Grab a snack from our Curiosity Café, or a drink from our cash bar. Park for FREE in our lot beginning at 5 pm, to start and end your Downtown Charleston Art Walk with the Clay Center
