Origami means “folding paper” in Japanese.
Most people think that because the common term for this artform is “origami” that was developed by the Japanese, but the Japanese actually developed their artform from past versions of origami. but at that time, as soon as a society invented paper, they started making origami.
Fun Fact: The Japanese culture uses origami as gift decoration, as we use bows!
